AIIMS, the best among all medical colleges in Delhi

 All India Institute of Medical Sciences was established in year 1956 and has been the best medical college in India from past 11 years, says India Today Survey. The college is spread over 330 acres of land. It intakes 77 students for MBBS, 217 to 220 students for MD & MS and 12 students in DM/M.Ch.  annually and conducts its own AIIMS exam for entrance. Around 80000 to 100000 students appear for this exam every year for under-graduate courses and only 77 get selected. So, acceptance rate for admission in MBBS courses is around 0.1 %, which is very low.  The hospital has a total of 1766 beds and 1323 doctors. Faculty to students ratio is given much concern here.

Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), is named after Indian freedom fighter and first education minister of independent India Maulana Abul Kalam Azad is a government medical college in Delhi and is affiliated to University of Delhi. The college has 5 college attached to it- Lok Nayak Hospital, Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital, Guru Nanak Eye Centre, Sushruta Trauma Centre and Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya. It was established in year 1956. The hospitals have combined bed strength of more than 2400 beds. It is a very reputed college and has been ranked as second best medical college in India. Admission is through NEET-UG with an intake of 250 students. The college offers the degrees of MBBS, MS, MD, MCh and DM.

Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) was established in 1916 and is affiliated to Delhi University, Faculty of Medical Sciences. For training of students, it has two hospitals, Smt. Sucheta Kriplani Hospital, and Kalawati Saran Child Hospital with bed strength of 877 and 350 respectively. The college provides MBBS, MD and MS degree courses. Admission for MBBS course is done through DUMET exam, eligibility for which is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually with a minimum of 50% marks (40% marks in case of SC/ST & 45% marks OBC Category) taken together in Physics, Chemistry & Biology and age should be 17 years minimum as on 31st December of the year of admission & above. Total intake for MBBS is 150 seats. Admissions for MS and MD are done through DUPGMET exam, eligibility for which is MBBS Degree from a Medical College affiliated to University of Delhi and Date of completion of internship (12 months) on or before 31st March.

This college was established in 1971 as a part of University of Delhi. The college runs various medical and paramedical courses. It intakes 150 students for MBBS, 71 students for MD/MS apart from PhD courses annually.  A part of this college is Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital which has a capacity of more than 1000 beds. It is known for its research in the medical field and is crowned with National ranking 7th based on the number of publications in PubMed indexed journals. The college offers M.B.B.S(intake 150 seats), M.D in all Departments except Psychiatry and M.D.S. (Paedodontics and Preventive Dentistry).
